“Dear Congress:
We are the “other women”. Our faces are not those contorted and filled with rage and hate, which flood television screens and social media 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Many of us are Christian Conservatives who pray diligently over elections and political matters. Some of us are “political junkies” while others are less informed. Many of us do not attend marches, though we fully support the”other women” who voice opinions in open forums that are dignified, nonviolent and nondisruptive. We do not wear crocheted hats representing female body parts, and our posters do not bear vulgarities and profanities.
We do not harass those of you who do not agree with us while you enjoy movies or dinners at restaurants, nor do we condone or participate in violence of any kind. While we fully support peaceful protests and assemblies, many of us are unable to attend since we have full-time jobs as nurses, teachers, attorneys, doctors, bankers, administrative assistants, secretaries, CEOs, self-employed businesswomen, and many other occupations which contribute to our society. Those of us who are homemakers have obligations with PTO, church, community, and children’s events.

But make no mistake. We “other women” are watching. We are observing, and we are listening. Please do not assume that because we might not be seen, that we will fail to be heard.
As you discuss “how women feel” and “what women think”, you might consider those of us who seem silent, yet vigilant...We “other women”, millions across this country, are not represented by the disruptive, screaming, angry, women we see clamoring for attention, who seem intent on destroying anyone in their way as they try to elevate women while trampling over men. We are not impressed with the “girl power” on display as we see women literally beating the doors of the Supreme Court Building, disruptively screaming during the most solemn events of our government’s establishments, and harassing and threatening senators in their private offices and homes. We “other women” are conservatives, independents, and moderate Democrats who shudder with embarrassment as we see those of our gender so emotionally out of control.
Though we are silent, we are engaged, and we will respond and act with dignity and pride in representing the better aspects of our gender while refuting the harmful behavior of the women we have observed over the course of these past few months.
We “ other women”, the quiet ones, are anxiously waiting to be heard in November. To underestimate our enthusiasm and resolve, as well as our strength in numbers, would be a big miscalculation.”
