Republican Solidarity Will Protect Trump From Impeachment
As impeachment fever again seizes certain elements of the Democratic Party, it’s a good time to remind ourselves how vanishingly scarce the odds are that such an effort will result in the removal of Donald Trump from office. The reason is extremely simple: Blocking a conviction for impeachable “high crimes and misdemeanors” requires a mere 34 senators.
