Statues of American historical figures including two of its Founding Fathers, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson, are being forcefully toppled across the country—a recent escalation President Donald Trump has explicitly denounced.

Though it’s unclear who exactly is behind each monument’s desecration, Attorney General William Barr said recently that the Department of Justice has evidence that Antifa and other similar groups have “hijacked” initially peaceful protests triggered recently by the death of George Floyd.

Facebook on June 18 removed content posted by President Donald Trump’s campaign, alleging the posts violated hate speech policies.

The campaign ran advertisements encouraging people to sign a petition opposing the anarcho-communist group Antifa. The posts included an inverted red triangle that a Trump campaign official said is used by members of Antifa; some critics countered that the symbol was used by the Nazis.

DOJ Proposes Rolling Back Legal Protections for Tech Companies Over User Content

The Justice Department (DOJ) has unveiled a series of legislative proposals that would curtail broad legal protections for online platforms in an effort to push tech companies to address illicit material while moderating content responsibly.

The proposed reforms are the latest in the Trump administration’s ongoing clash with big tech companies such as Twitter and Facebook. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on May 28 directing federal agencies to develop regulations that protect users from unfair or deceptive content restriction practices employed by online platforms.

Police in the United States have been under siege for almost a month now because of one very bad cop in Minneapolis. Men and women who risk their lives every time they go to work are being painted with a broad brush, being portrayed as plagued by systemic racism and routinely abusing power. That, after all, is the justification for all the rioting and looting the last three weeks.

The real Google scandal

On Tuesday afternoon, NBC News reported that Google had "banned" two "far-right" online publications, Zero Hedge and The Federalist, from its advertising platform because both had published articles in violation of its terms of service. According to the report, these actions had been taken by Google at the behest of NBC's own so-called "Verification Unit," after reporters showed them a listicle from what is allegedly a British think tank.
