Daily Bites of Pilgrims Path to Freedom vol. 2 Series 1:
How Do You Spell Liberty?
How do we spell liberty? Lord, help US understand. Help US spell it in a way that’s clear to every man. L is for our Only Lord. Besides Him there is none. I mean “In His Image” he created everyone. B stands for the Bible...The Word of God Made Flesh. E means Every knee shall bow and Every tongue confess. R means Righteousness exalts a nation such as ours. T means Teach what Jesus Taught for He has given Power. Y is for each Yearning heart that yields to God’s command...to keep proclaiming Liberty throughout our troubled Land.
Introduction:
Daily Bites of Pilgrims Path to Freedom vol. 2 Series 1:
How do you Spell Liberty?
This series is dedicated to those brave men and women who gave their lives, fortunes, and their sacred honor for the sake of freedom. They were harassed, mocked, and publicly ridiculed. They were arrested and imprisoned for reasons where no reasons would justifiably serve. the new learning of the Protestant Reformation was the original theology of the Apostle Paul translated into English from the original Greek without any interpretation other than what the Apostle said. the study of these manuscripts exposed the error of the Latin Vulgate version which was owned only by the Church of England and taught to the people by proper authorities appointed by the Church Council. I regret that I can barely scrape the surface in my meager attempt to render tribute due. (Romans 13:7 “Honor to whom honor”) I am thankful that God will keep a perfect record of all of them.

#26) Proceedings Against Publications:
Proceedings against Publications: Fox’s book of Martyrs:
In 1587, just a few years before the Settling of Jamestown and the Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock, they were experiencing the censoring of their christian publications and the ban on the Bible. the Bible was banned from the common people and kept in the hands of the World Council of Churches. Today books are being censored much the same as they were in the late 1500’s. when a book was published it was read by top authorities and scrutinized not for merit but for defects of the author. They read it with prejudice and changed that which was innocent into an offensive meaning. That brought about a long list of condemned books and people were ordered to destroy all books publicly listed. No Bibles were allowed under severe penalty. disobedience was of fatal consequence. The publishers of such condemned books were ruined for life in every circumstance and many were imprisoned.
#27) The Fate of the man from Toledo:
The Fate of the Man from Toledo: Fox’s Book of Martyrs:
In the late 1500’s, a man from Toledo was fond of producing fine specimens of writings and had them framed to adorn the different rooms of his home. Among other examples of penmanship, was a large piece containing “The Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments.” This was seen one day by a person belonging to the Spanish Inquisition, who observed the numbers of the Ten Commandments were not written the same as the numbers were written in the Church of Rome. He reported it to the authorities and soon this man was seized. He was prosecuted and burnt just because he embellished his home with the specimens of his own skills. (unquote Fox) The man’s name is not recorded but I’m glad God knows his name and also the names of many others who deserve to be exonerated. God Bless these Heroes and all of our military down through history who fought and died for our freedom to worship our One and Only True God.
#28) The Principle of One Mediator between God and Man:
The Principle of One Mediator: Fox Book of Martyrs:
Protestants accept the Bible as the final source of authority and true information about God and the Salvation of man. The Bible, rather than church authority, is the final rule of faith to the protestant because they believe it is closer than anything else to the original events in the life of Jesus Christ. Protestants believe that each person should rely on his own judgment in religious matters. In accepting the Bible as his authority for his beliefs he sets himself up as his own judge and interpreter of the Bible. This principle of private interpretation accounts for the great variety of denominations and churches that characterize Protestantism. Pearl’s Poem: I’m Taking it Personal: I’m taking it personal: my walk with the Lord. I’m telling Him first that I trust in His Word. / I count on His Love to guide me each day. I know that he cares and He’ll show me the way. He died for the world to set us all free.. If it were I, only, He’d die just for me. / So just take it personal because it is true. If it were you only...He’d die just for you. I Timothy 2:5: “For there is One God and One Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
#29) The Real Crime:
As I near the end of this series I’m thinking of the Scriptures that match these brave men reaching back through history and now in this present day and the future endurance of the persecution many are sure to suffer. Jude 3: These men who have honestly defended, do defend and will defend for the faith once delivered to the christians and saints. Romans 13: 7: We must render tribute due...honor to whom honor...Psalm 116:15: Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of His saints” ... John 7:7: “The world can not hate you but ME (the Lord) it hates, because I testify unto it that their works are evil.” John 1:12: “As many as received Him, to them gave He Power to become the sons of God.” ... Matthew 10:26,27: There is nothing covered that will not be revealed. What you hear in the closet shout from the rooftops”
#30) Excelsior: (Up Ahead!)
McGuffey Reader: American Public Schools, Lesson xciv (94)
This is a beautiful and very important poem. It doesn’t list the author but it was taught in public school to warn children about straying from their warm and happy homes. We fall away from teaching our children to their own peril and to our peril. Excelsior: the shades of night were falling fast...as through an Alpine village passed...a youth who bore midst snow and ice...a Banner with such strange device...Excelsior: (Up Ahead) His brow was sad, his eyes beneath...flashed like a falchion from its sheath. And like a silver clarion rung...the accent of the unknown tongue...Excelsior: In happy hors he saw the light...of household fires gleam warm and bright. Above the special glaciers shone...and from his lips escaped a groan...Excelsior: Try not that path, the old man said. Dark lowers the tempest up ahead. Excelsior:
