Series 6: #28) Simon: Plant another Seed:
Milton Hershey had to try again and again before he finally figured out the best way to sell and to make chocolate candy. Is there something you have been trying to do that never seems to work? Can you try again? Maybe someone else can help you think of a way to look at the problem. Milton Hershey loved helping people. He left all his money to the school for poor orphans. PL Sturgis: If you want to know more about how to succeed in your own life why not visit the Hershey Museum? www.hershey-museum. microserve.net. Here you will find exhibits and information of Milton Hershey’s life. the museum details the cultural heritage of the German People who settled in Pennsylvania from Switzerland, where they had escaped to Switzerland from Europe, who persecuted them for their Mennonite religion. This was before they settled in America. Series 6: #29) Private Solutions for Public Problems:
Whatever philosophy controls the education system will eventually play a large part in the way people think and act. What we see happening today is the result of people acting out what they have learned in school. The future will belong to the philosophy which is able to train the majority of the children living today. These children are the social leaders of the future and their philosophy will be the one they are now learning. Christians must awaken to the facts and determine to do all they can to pass their faith on to their children through a godly education. Secondly, we must attempt to take the Christian world view into the education field where it can compete fairly with other points of view. All too many Christians are allowing their children to be spiritually sacrificed when they send them to educational institutions where they are being indoctrinated into a complete secular and humanistic world view. By this action we are dedicating our children to the service of the secular god of humanism. As Christians we must begin to take action to set forth a clear Christian position. God allows each of us to consider what we can do to improve the spiritual and philosophical basis of American Education.
Daily Bites of the Safest Place on Earth:
Series 6: #30) The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom:
Parents have a duty to provide their children with a godly education. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 1:7) Wisdom rests on faith and true knowledge and has as its presupposition the Sovereign God. there can be no neutrality in education. there are two branches in American Education. Public and Private: We must look at both and see what steps can be taken to turn back the tide of secularism.
(PL Sturgis: At present (2018) the Public Schools are a hot bed for secularism. Christians are attacked and accused of irrational nature of religious faith. The answer for influencing Public Schools is at the ballot box. ) Private Christian Education allows teachers and parents to openly and clearly proclaim their christian faith and philosophy and raise children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Praying and reading the Bible before class is not enough. Relying only on formal rituals has never been an effective method of leading children to a living faith in Christ. (PL Sturgis: Milton Hershey understood this and made the wish the day World War 2 ended that the Hershey Home Boys would continue to thrive in Hershey Town long after his eternal rest.)
Pearl’s Poems:
Much Higher are His Ways:
How can a God full of Mercy and Love...Sit in His Heaven and watch from above Young children crying in hunger down here. Suffering and dying in pain and in fear? Ten thousand angels could come at His will. Here on this earth every need could fulfill. Feed all the hungry and heal every lame. Comfort the lonely and ease every pain. Why should He die upon Calvary’s Tree? Why give His Life for a sinner like me? Why should He search for one lost sheep astray? Much Higher are His ways. ----- Keep On Dreaming: Faith lies on a mountain so mighty and tall...Hope flavored and topped with a dream. Love grows from a heartbeat so tiny and small. Love follows, hope leads, to that dream. Your dreams may seem shattered when heartache moves in. Life’s storm clouds may hide them from view. Remember the pathway. Start over again. It’s close as a heartbeat to you.
