Educating the Youth:
This young single mother had never heard the term "pro-life" and she certainly did not know it was a movement! No one ever told her that every human being: mother or child; aged or preborn; able or disabled, has dignity and is deserving of protection. She only knew that her abortions were in the past. She was wrong! It's true she would never again visit the clinic, never again eat the crackers or smell the disinfectant, but while her procedures were over her dreams were just beginning.
The nightmares began The young mother began having bad dreams.; horrible nightmares filled with wailing babies. Just hearing a baby cry upset her. She could not stop thinking about what she had seen on the clinic monitor. One night she pictured herself in a building that felt extremely familiar. It seemed an awful lot like the church she attended with her family when she was younger.
The young mother called her mother and asked if she knew the way to the Little White Church she had taken her as a child. Eventually, she found the building and found faith there. Eventually, she met the man she married. The young man had regrets of his own. At the time they met the young mother was in transition and trying to move on from her old life into her new life. She was honest with her husband and shared her abortions and her nightmares. The young man said her honesty was what attracted him to her.
The two of them, the young mother and the young man married in 2017 and a year later had their first child together. She and her husband were thankful to the Lord that they were still able to have a child after the abortion. They were two damaged people working to have a healthy relationship. The Radio played constantly in their home.
One day the dial on the radio was turned to Focus on the Family. As the young mother listened she heard the discussions and thought to herself: "What does "prolife mean? Why are these people talking about abortion?" Then she began to understand that the guests were giving their own testimonies to help others heal. It was her husband's suggestion to attend the 2019 March for Life. They had heard about it on the Focus on the Family program.
When the young couple went to the 2019 March for Life they ended up taking family and friends, piling everyone into a friend's RV for the long drive to Washington DC. So many people welcomed them and thanked them for coming. The young mother was having a great time until she saw the images on the giant screen: Pictures of aborted babies: Then she heard the testimony of an aborted survivor.
When the young mother heard the testimony of the aborted survivor she could not focus anymore! She could not process what she was seeing and hearing The story of this woman An aborted survivor, awakened something deep inside her heart and the memories came back until she unraveled on the street of the Nation's Capitol! She wept like never before! Every part of her hurt, Her mind, body, and spirit!
No one could understand what was taking place. It was just this young mother and the Lord. People tried to help. One lady stood over the young mother and prayed for her. Still, at that moment, the young mother knew what was happening. She was sickened by her past abortion. She was having an encounter with God. She was repenting and He was forgiving.
The young mother still weeps sometimes but she adores being a mother. She and her husband now have another son and she has started working again. One of her favorite parts of her job is being there when the ultrasound is performed. It is always a thrill when parents get to hear their baby's heartbeat. It is the music of life, For themselves. Psalm 139:14-18: "I will praise Thee, Lord, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Thy works and that my soul knows right well. My substance was not hidden from thee when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest part of the earth. Your eyes did see my substance yet being unperfect and in Your Book, all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them? If I should count them they are more in number than the sand."
The young mother no longer minds the sound of babies crying. "Nowadays it's a soothing sound," she says because she is there to catch their tears; to hold them, and help them. She wants others, particularly young mothers, to hear about her story; to learn from her experience, and find the same radio program that changed her life. She said if she had been taught this teaching there would have been a different outcome.

For All Young Mothers:
New Born: by PL Sturgis:
Before you travel your first mile upon the road of life. Before you ever learn to smile or see the morning light; Before you've taken your first step or speak a single word, God's watching, and He will protect. We've asked and He has heard. God grant you joy and peace within. O Precious little One..... and may you always walk with Him until your journey's done.
Blanket Velvet Black: by PL Sturgis:
Now the darkness falls, my child. The night takes place during the day. Let me see that happy smile. Don't you be afraid? Angels watch from Heaven's Throne sprinkling peace on thee. Singing till the night is gone. Sleep, my baby, sleep. There are valleys dark and drear you must journey through. But my baby, have no fear. God will go with you. There's a Blanket of Velvet Black falling from Above. He who took the sunshine back spreads it with His Love.
A Poem for Grandparents: Hours Away: by PL Sturgis:
"I'll put on the coffee and stay by the phone. I'll try not to worry and wait here at home. For somebody special, I'll be meeting today. They tell me the baby's just hours away. My arms have been empty for so many years. I miss the mud pies, the laughter, and the tears. Rocking my babies to sleep in my arms; Kissing the hurt away; singing my songs. Hours away from a lifetime to love. Coming to stay. Sent from Heaven Above. Somebody special soon enters my world... My sweet Baby Boy or my Sweet Baby Girl
