The FBI seized records from the Mayor of Lyons, Illinois as well as from other prominent businesses. A federal grand jury subpoena was served to the entire Democratic Organization of Lyons Township — headed by state Sen. Steven Landek.
The documents reveal more about the massive sprawling federal political corruption centering around Chicago and Springfield.
So far there have been no criminal charges, but there have been extensive searches and its hard to imagine arrests won’t soon follow.
Lyon officials have been ordered to appear before a grand jury on Oct. 3rd. There are many questions around the connections between the town’s businesses and the town’s legislators.
This story could be an important one to keep an eye on. This is a new era that will punish corruption at any level of government.
