Here It Comes: Rep. Meadows Says Fusion GPS Indictments Are Coming!
Now that the Special Counsel investigation is over, it becomes more imperative than ever that we demand investigations into the investigators.
We well know by now that the entire Mueller investigation was based on a phony dossier provided by Hillary-funded Fusion GPS, who hired ex-British spy Christopher Steele to compile the dossier based on his Russian intelligence sources.
So you tell me who colluded with a foreign government.
This dossier was used to apply for a FISA warrant and three subsequent renewals to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, but many of the officials who signed their name on the applications later admitted they knew it was unreliable.
There are many people involved here who weaponized the intelligence community for political purposes and many people who need to be indicted if there is to be any justice left in our system.
Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) revealed on Tuesday that House Republicans are planning on criminally referring a handful of individuals linked to Fusion GPS, the firm that funded the dossier.
On Tuesday, WaPo reporter Robert Consta asked Rep. Meadows if House Republicans were looking at any individuals for criminal referrals after House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) revealed that Blackwater founder Erik Prince will be criminally referred to the DOJ for allegedly making false statements to Congress.
While Meadows did not reveal the names of the individuals he plans to make criminal referrals for to the DOJ, House Republicans have in the past stated that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson made false statements before the House Intelligence Committee panel while testifying in November of 2017 about the timespan of his contact with disgraced DOJ official Bruce Ohr, who disseminated their dossier through the DOJ.
“I can tell you that there are two or three individuals that we believe could have potentially given false testimony to Congress. We have been looking at that, reviewing not only the Mueller report but comparing those to transcribed interviews that might have happened in Congress,” Meadows said Tuesday at an event hosted by the Washington Post.
He added that criminal referrals will be in relation to the dossier and Fusion GPS.
“I do have great concerns on the role, not just Fusion GPS, but those associated with it played early on and how was that used or not used as it relates to this investigation,” Meadows said.
The law firm representing the Clinton 2016 campaign, Perkins Coie, hired Fusion GPS in April of 2016 to dig into the Trump campaign for dirt.
They then hired Steele to make contact with his former Russian intel sources to try to find dirt on the campaign, and what Steele produced was 35-pages of absolute trash. The dossier was nothing of unverified, salacious lies about the President and members of his campaign.
While the FBI terminated its relationship with Steele in November of 2016, Ohr continued to work as a back channel for Steele to the FBI and the Mueller probe throughout 2017.
During Jeff Sessions time as Attorney General, there were criminal referrals sent to the DOJ, but nothing became of these.
Now, there’s a new sheriff in town. Sessions’ replacement, Attorney General Bill Barr, is a no-nonsense stickler for the rule of law and seems undeterred by the hysterical rhetoric of the left.
While he’s at the helm of the DOJ, we’ve got the best chance yet of bringing these crooks to justice.
