Biden claims he took part in the civil rights movement of the 1960s, and not a word is true. Donald Trump may be rude and crude. He may be abrasive and off-putting. His Twitter temperament may be caustic, his leadership style demanding, his political instincts heavy-handed, and his use of hyperbole a bit extreme; yes, President Trump may be a pugnacious man with many flaws that he doesn’t even care to hide, but Joe Biden is a proven, habitual, unrepentant fraud and a pathological liar of the highest order.

Former President Trump believed foreign policy and domestic policy are inextricably linked and America must be good at home in order to lead the rest of the planet. Biden, on the other hand, secretly hoped he could keep the two worlds a little more isolated in these times.

An intriguing and distressingl feature of the Biden administration and congressional Democrats is both having a propensity for law breaking and lawmaking. They’re different sides of the same coin. While the former is obviously bad, in the wrong hands, the latter is no less wicked. Lawmaking, when done punitively, for gross partisan advantage, when favoring some over the many, and/or for pure power acquisition, will as easily offend and injure those citizens subject to bad laws as any violation of law.

So, when millions of Americans refuse his benevolence, well, that ticks him off a little. He’s promised that soon he’s going to be really mad and we had better watch out. “I don’t quite get this,” quoth he. He’s offering us salvation but we choose not to accept it. How could we be so stupid and ungrateful?
It’s a little disconcerting to think that the equivalent of a spoiled, angry, and somewhat addled teenager, is ostensibly running what is still the most powerful country in the world despite his best efforts to diminish it.

The perpetually irascible Samuel Goldwyn, a founder of the American motion picture industry, once said “I am willing to admit I may not always be right, but I am never wrong.” While Goldwyn said this tongue-in-cheek, the quote is an accurate portrayal of one of the primary and most obvious character traits of those with authoritarian mindsets.
Those that have a predilection towards authoritarianism invariably have a deep-seated conviction of infallibility combined with attendant hubris and pathological lying. These traits are ever-present in those that can justify any devious or unethical means to achieve their goal.

The January 6 Insurrection Hoax
The following is adapted from a lecture delivered at Hillsdale College on September 20, 2021, during a Center for Constructive Alternatives conference on “Critical American Elections.”
The January 6 Insurrection Hoax
Notwithstanding all the hysterical rhetoric surrounding the events of January 6, 2021, two critical things stand out. The first is that what happened was much more hoax than insurrection. In fact, in my judgment, it wasn’t an insurrection at all.
An “insurrection,” as the dictionary will tell you, is a violent uprising against a government or other established authority. Unlike the violent riots that swept the country in the summer of 2020—riots that caused some $2 billion in property damage and claimed more than 20 lives—the January 6 protest at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. lasted a few hours, caused minimal damage, and the only person directly killed was an unarmed female Trump supporter who was shot by a Capitol Police officer. It was, as Tucker Carlson said shortly after the event, a political protest that “got out of hand.”
