I sort of accidentally found this page again. This has happened several times. I am old school and can not seem to wrap my brain around computers and technology. My great-granddaughter even helps me, when I can catch her. Nevertheless, I just want to say: In the old school, we had Common Law, which is God's moral law.
Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance |
First grade: Started with the Lord's Prayer: Then we sang the song called "America." "My Country Tis of Thee: Sweet Land of Liberty: To thee, I sing: Land where my fathers died: Land of Thy pilgrims' pride. Great God our King: We sang all 4 verses. (maybe you can find it on google) We read one chapter in the Bible every day and in elementary school (grades 1 to 6) after we learned to read we took turns in reading class by learning to speak to the audience. Then we discussed the Biblical chapter. In all 6 grades, we had recess where we went to play for a long time. Children today need the help of society, instead of the brainwashing going on in the schools today. One day in the 5th grade they told us we are not allowed to read the Bible anymore. That was the mid-50s. We had Released time 2 hours a week and were given Bibles by the church. That was my first Bible belonging to me only. We had a big bible at home. Moral of the story. We need to get back to the Bible.
