THE DAVID AND GOLIATH OF THE SEN. JOSH HAWLEY AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Since former President Donald Trump left the White House, Sen. Josh Hawley has arguably been the top populist Republican on Capitol Hill. The Missouri lawmaker has supported cracking down on Big Tech companies, issuing $2,000 individual stimulus payments during the pandemic, imposing a $15-an-hour federal minimum wage for corporations with over $1 billion in annual revenues only, and reinstating Trump immigration policies as border apprehensions rose under President Joe Biden to cheers and jeers within his own party.

But part of Trump’s populist brand was also breaking with the recent GOP past on foreign policy, talking about ending endless wars, or hitting Biden and Hillary Clinton for their Iraq War votes. As Biden’s administration has taken shape, Hawley has stepped up his criticism of the Democrats on that front.

THIS GUY IS PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL

Senator Hawley Making Move Against Biden in Middle East

The Middle East and the endless wars this country seems to always be stuck in are being targeted by a top Republican as a way to expose Joe Biden and the establishment.

When Trump was in office, he worked very hard to bring troops home, but he was met with resistance the entire time by the establishment.

Joe Biden seems intent on not only keeping our troops in the Middle East but also possibly expanding our presence, which is where Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) comes in.

The Endless Wars

Let’s face the facts… war is money.

War is how many of our politicians keep their election war chests full, getting massive donations from arms companies and other businesses that benefit from the business of war.

While Democrats are just as guilty as Republicans on this front, it has always been Republicans that have been fingered as warmongers.

That started to change when Trump was in office, as he clearly wanted to lessen our presence not only in the Middle East but also in other parts of the world where many people no longer believe our troops should be present.

This included removing troops from overseas posts where Trump believed other nations were taking advantage of our generosity.

This was a line of thinking more akin to Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) than say someone like Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Well, Senator Hawley is now carrying on the attacks against these forever wars that started when Trump was in office, and it could provide him a way to expose Biden and put another crack in that foundation to take him down in 2024.

To that point, Hawley recently launched an attack against Biden’s Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

He stated, “What a group of corporatists and war enthusiasts.

“Take Tony Blinken. He’s backed every endless war since the Iraq invasion.”

Hawley waged a similar attack against Janet Yellen, Biden’s nomination for Secretary of the Treasury, stating, “My concerns, as I’ve said before, about what I’m seeing from Vice President Biden is the people who he wants to be in his cabinet are all a bunch of corporate liberals and warmongers.

“So I’d like to see him break the mold.”

This is now a growing movement within the party, with many of the younger members of the House and Senate getting on board with idea that there is a very strong chance the Middle East simply cannot be changed.

Expect Hawley to exploit this as much as possible, especially if Joe Biden misses the upcoming deadline for the troop withdrawal in the Taliban peace agreement.
