2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is
a new virus (more specifically, a coronavirus) identified as the cause of an
outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China.

CDC believes at this time that
symptoms of 2019-nCoV may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 after
initial exposure. This is based on what has been seen previously as the
incubation period of MERS viruses.
Since it may take 14 days for symptoms to occur, there is the chance it has
spread to many people prior to discovery.
There is no approved vaccine or antiviral treatment available.
It is thought that the virus had surfaced from a seafood and animal market in Wuhan, China. Through isolation of blood work, sources claim the virus has been pinpointed to have come from the Chinese krait and the Chinese cobra, both found in Southern China and Southeast Asia.
According
to reports, because it is a new virus, how it is transmitted and how it came to
be is still being investigated and it's no stranger around the globe as other
nations have reported victims having the virus. Cases have been confirmed in 13
countries including Thailand, Singapore, France, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Korea,
United States, Nepal, Malaysia, Australia and Macau. Potential cases are
pending results in Israel and Toronto, Canada.
MALAYSIA: Three individuals
infected in Malaysia were Chinese nationals and related to the 66-year-old man
that was confirmed by Singapore health authorities to have tested positive for
the virus. In a separate statement, Malaysia Airports said it has
heightened screening of all passengers and crew arriving from China at the
gateway airports across the country to minimize the potential spread of the
virus.
AUSTRALIA: Three confirmed cases had recently arrived from Wuhan. First case was discovered in Victoria. China is the largest source of foreign visitors to the country. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade overnight changed the level of travel advice for Wuhan and Hubei province to “do not travel.” The disease is being listed as having “pandemic potential,” which allows for enhanced border protection measures.
Doctors in Wuhan have been overwhelmed
with the number of coronavirus patients, and some are even wearing adult
diapers because they don't have time to go to the restroom. With this in
mind, there are rumors that the actual cases in China are not being accurately
stated. Some experts are suggesting the real numbers are 10 - 15% higher
than reported.
Liang Wudong, a doctor at Hubei Xinhua Hospital, China, who had been at the front line battling the outbreak in Wuhan, has died from the virus at age 62. He had retired in March 2019.

China's Shanghai Disney Resort has temporarily closed the Shanghai Disneyland,
Disneytown including Walt Disney Grand Theatre and Wishing Star Park starting today amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak “to ensure the health and safety of our guests and cast.”
CDC recommends that you bring a face mask when traveling by flight
and in case you need to cancel your flight, they recommend buying travel
insurance when you book a ticket.
In closing,
here is a tidbit that will get you thinking... a patent for a virus that was
issued in 2004 for U.S. But there are other countries who have patents as
well. We've heard in the news that China has been found guilty of
stealing intellectual property. Something to think about...
