Former McCain staffer urged IRS to use audit power to ruin opponents
Startling Revelation
Under Lois Lerner, former President Barack Obama turned the IRS into a bulldog to do his dirty work.
As you may recall, several conservative-oriented organizations found themselves the target of unwarranted audits under the Obama administration.
The real bombshell, though, came when it was revealed that a former McCain staffer and current Trump appointee had directed the IRS to unleash on those people.
Henry Kerner is the former staff director for John McCain.
While his appointment to the United States Office of Special Counsel surprised some, others saw it as Trump extending an olive branch to McCain.
That olive branch was quickly brushed away, though, when Kerner went after Kellyanne Conway for alleged federal law violations.
Kerner claimed she “violated federal law in two television interviews last year by using her White House position to weigh in on a political race.”
McCain Links
The link to this scandal from Kerner to McCain is an important one.
At the time, several conservative-oriented groups were openly opposing the Obama administration and its policies.
When the battle to shut these groups down was lost on the Supreme Court, McCain and Obama then conspired to shut these groups down in any way they could.
Was this a blatant move by Trump’s enemies?
Was this an outright attack against the First Amendment by the likes of McCain and Obama?
The facts speak for themselves — and now it is time for our Justice Department to hold them all accountable, including Sen. John McCain.
