Trump Needs to Clean House at D.O.J and the FBI
An Attorney General who recuses himself. A Department of Justice seemingly guilty of covering the tracks of the then-departing radicals in the former Obama Administration. A Federal Bureau of Investigation that appears to not only be inept at investigating crimes by Democrats but perfectly willing to invent fairy tale crimes out of thin air to seek similarly fabricated evidence to pin said crimes on Republicans.
Enough! It is time for President Donald Trump to deal with this once and for all.
First, AG Jeff Sessions needs to either resign and go run for his old Senate seat or resign and head to the golf course. I don't care which at this point as it is debatable in which capacity he could do less damage. Replace him with EPA Director Scott Pruitt, former AG from Oklahoma, who by all accounts appears to be doing a whiz bang job at EPA.
Second, the top 100 officials at DOJ and the top 100 officials at FBI need to be sat down in little rooms and informed that they are relieved of their duties. Turn in your gun, your badge, your ID, your cell phone and any codes or other government property. Hand them each a yellow legal pad and tell them they have one chance and one change only to come clean. Lawyer up and we will pursue you toe the fullest extent of the Law. Oh, and your top 99 colleagues are fessing up right now with the promise of potential exoneration in exchange for their little novels. Lawyer up at risk of being fingered by 99 other people so we don't need your assistance. You've been fired. You've lost your pension and benefits. Maybe you don't value your Liberty any more than that.
Third, every law enforcement official in the Federal government needs to be transferred effectively immediately. Some from the FBI go to the ATF. Some from ATF go to Secret Service. Some from Secret Service--you get the idea. Everybody gets transferred. Nobody stays in the same agency.
And now the fun commences. Turn the Beast upon itself. You have 200 legal pads from DOJ and FBI to start with. Set the heads of the Hydra upon itself. One head lopping off another. One agency investigating another.
The lesson here is, it matters not what was said, promised...or threatened...by the prior administration and its staff. There is a new Sheriff in town now. These people do answer to the new President. And the Rule of Law will be respected going forward. Can't work for the man whose photograph now hangs in every Post Office and Federal Building in the country? Then prepare to fill out your legal pad, too.
The sick joke has more than run its course. And it is time for the Big Talker in Chief to deal with this matter once and for all.
